Why do we celebrate Easter like this? Here you have an explanation based on the following legend:
This curious legend says that
when they put Jesus in the tomb that Joseph of Arimathea had given them, a
small rabbit was hidden there, and very scared it watched all the people came
and cried sadly because Jesus died.
The rabbit sat there watching
the body of Jesus when they put the stone blocking the entrance, wondering who
would be that Lord whom everyone loved so much.
So he spent a long time
watching; spent all day and all night, when the bunny suddenly saw something really
surprising: Jesus got up and turned the sheets that had wrapped him. An angel
rolled the stone covering the entrance and he went out of the cave more alive
than ever!
The rabbit realized that Jesus
was the Son of God and decided that it had to warn everyone and teel yhem to
stop crying, they shouldn´t be sad no longer because Jesús had risen.
As rabbits cannot speak, he
thought that if he brings a colorful painted egg, people would understand the
message of life and joy, and he did.
Since then, according to the
legend, every Easter Sunday the rabbit brings colored eggs to every house to
remind the world that Jesus was resurrected and they have to live happy. The
game of hide Easter eggs left by the Easter bunny in every house is the
amusement of children on Easter Sunday. It is a tradition in many places held
every year. One of the most famous Easter eggs games is organized in the White
House in Washington, USA.
¿Por qué celebramos la Pascua de esta forma? Aquí
tenéis una explicación basada en la siguiente leyenda:
Esta curiosa leyenda cuenta que, cuando metieron a Jesús en el sepulcro que
les había dado José de Arimatea, había dentro de la cueva un conejo escondido,
que muy asustado veía cómo toda la gente entraba, lloraba y estaba triste
porque Jesús había muerto.
El conejo se quedó ahí viendo el cuerpo de Jesús cuando pusieron la piedra
que cerraba la entrada y lo veía y lo veía preguntándose quien sería ese Señor
a quien querían tanto todas las personas.
Así pasó mucho rato viéndolo; pasó todo el día y toda una noche, cuando de
repente elconejito vio
algo sorprendente: Jesús se levantó y dobló las sábanas con las que lo habían
envuelto. Un ángel quitó la piedra que tapaba la entrada y Jesús salió de la
cueva ¡más vivo que nunca!
El conejo comprendió que Jesús era el Hijo de Dios y decidió que tenía que
avisar a todo el mundo y a todas las personas que lloraban, que ya no tenían
que estar tristes porqueJesús había resucitado.
Como los conejos no pueden hablar, se le ocurrió que si les llevaba un huevo pintado,
ellos entenderían el mensaje de vida y alegría, y así lo hizo.
Desde entonces, cuenta la leyenda que, el conejo sale
cada Domingo de Pascua a dejar huevos de colores en todas las casas para
recordar al mundo que Jesús resucitó y hay que vivir alegres. El juego de
esconder los huevos de Pascua que
ha ido dejando el conejo de Pascua en todas las casas es la diversión de los
niños el Domingo de Pascua. Toda una tradición en muchos lugares que se celebra
cada año. Uno de los más famosos juegos de los huevos de
Pascua es el que se organiza en la Casa Blanca, en Washington,
